About Us

Code Club Australia

Code Club Australia was founded in 2014 and expanded thanks to funding from the Telstra Foundation. Aiming to provide free resources, training and events to communities all over Australia, Code Club volunteers serve over 75,000 youth a week. Code Club Australia is a registered charity and exists thanks to the generosity of corporates, sponsors and government funding.

Initially founded in the United Kingdom in 2012, Code Club is now part of the Raspberry Pi Foundation, a UK based charity that works to put the power of digital making into the hands of people all over the world. There are over 10,000 clubs in more than 120 countries, and our projects have been translated into 28 languages. The free, sustainable and project based content empowers children and volunteers all over the world to #getkidscoding.

What We Do

Code Club creates projects for our volunteers and educators to teach at after school coding clubs. The projects we make teach children how to program by showing them how to make computer games, animations and websites. Volunteers go to their local junior school or other venue, such as a library, for an hour a week and teach one project a week for two terms minimum.

We don’t exist just to teach kids to code. We want children around Australia to get access to the skills, confidence and opportunity to shape their world. We believe in the democratisation of digital technologies education. Thanks to our founding partner the Telstra Foundation, our  focus is digital inclusion, diversity in technology education and relevant skill building.

Our Mission

Our mission is to give every child the skills, confidence and opportunity to shape their world. Code Club exists to democratise digital technologies education. We want every child in Australia to grow up with the opportunity to change the world with their own ideas.

We empower volunteers and educators to inspire the next generation of innovators and thinkers in fun, creative and collaborative environments. Code Clubs are open to every child for free.

We’d like to put a Code Club in every single school and library in the country. We need your help to achieve this mission!
